Developer At OC Great Park Wants Irvine Approval to Build 4,606 More New Homes
Developer “FivePoint Communities” will open its first phase of 726 new homes at “Pavilion Park” – OC Great Park Irvine – with site selection and selling starting the weekend of September 7, 2013 – and model homes to be open later this month.
It already has city of Irvine permission to build 4,894 new homes at “Great Park Neighborhoods” – north side of the Orange County Great Park.
“FivePoint Communities” would then have permission to build and sell 9,500 new homes at OC Great Park.
Developer “FivePoint Communities” says it will build 227-acre Great Park Fields golf course ($23 million), 178-acre wildlife corridor ($13 million), 176-acre sports complex ($115 million) with public golf course, 45-acre wooded area with trails ($17 million), 35-acre Upper Bee Canyon ($4 million), and study for a cultural terrace ($2 million) – and that this all will take about five years.
Recent report by OCRegister.com was that Jeff Lalloway, city council member and chairman of the Great Park board, says that negotiations are not yet complete and that the city should get more from the developer in exchange for city approval to build and sell the additional 4,606 homes.
